Developing and promoting mindfulness, problem solving and a profound understanding of technology in a rapidly evolving world.
In the Computer Science department we intend for our learners to know how to be safe and confident technology users, equipped with the knowledge they need to ensure they are able to ideally prevent but also react responsibly to changing digital threats.
They will know how computer systems work, so they can not only use them effectively, but understand and explain the processes taking place before them. Learners will know how to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information, enabling them to fulfil their potential and become life-long learners.
They will be able to apply the fundamental principles and concepts of Computer Science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation allowing them to analyse problems in computational terms, and will have repeated practical experience of writing computer programmes in order to solve such problems.

Equipment
Pen, pencil, ruler and rubber, it would be very useful for the learners to have some cheap headphones available so that if we are working with sound on the computers they can fully take part in the experiences in the class room.
Out of Class/Extra-curricular
The Computer Science department is always there to assist learners to help them achieve their goals at the school even when their class is over. Therefore, we run computer clubs at lunchtimes and after school to enable them to complete homework, print out resources, study, research, revise or complete work for other subjects.
