At De Aston Sixth Form we are very proud of our students’ impressive record of success in recentyears. A large majority of our Sixth Formers follow a programme of study consisting of three Level 3qualifications (these can include A Levels and vocational courses). Excellent A Level results in thepast few years have taken students to a range of universities a variety of subjects, including Mathematical Physics, zoology and architecture.

De Aston Sixth Form offers a variety of learning packages available over one (in the case of Level 2 qualifications) or two years (in the case of Level 3 qualifications), enabling students of varying abilities to select a combination of courses best suited to their needs. Sixth Form students can benefit from a range of experiences through their subjects, which may involve fieldwork, practicals, visits abroad, theatre trips, concerts, drama production and the Extended Project Qualification.

In September 2025, we are excited to be offering some new vocational qualifications to our Year 12 cohort. More information on these courses can be found in our online prospectus.

Every Sixth Former at De Aston follows an individual timetable. Our timetable is designed so that you can, if you wish, combine very wide-ranging courses and qualifications. We ask you for your preliminary choices when you apply to join the Sixth Form. No final decisions need to be made until September at the start of Year 12, when students know their summer examination results. Time will be set aside following results days for you to discuss your programme with your tutor and with the Head of Sixth Form or the school’s Senior Leadership Team.

We also offer a Level 2 programme which will include resit English and Mathematics and a collection of other appropriate courses.

In addition, we strive to offer enrichment opportunities including the Sports Leadership Award as well as a comprehensive tutorial programme, including the Level 3 Extended Project Qualification.
